IV: ANXIETY" November 4, 1995 Spartan Stadium: San Jose, CA Source: Alterative Mix: 2 source mix: [Schoeps CMC441s > Lunatec pre-amp > Sony D10 ProII (on micstand, next to SBD cage) > DAT > CDR > dEQ] + ["Anxiety" liberated bootleg > .WAV > dEdit] > flac Digital Editing, Remastering, and Mixing (alternate mix): Bill Graham Artwork: Allen Robertson DISC THREE - ALTERNATIVE MIX 01 Dead Man (preshow before The Fastbacks) (^)(!) 02 intro 03 Release 04 Even Flow 05 Last Exit 06 Animal 07 Dissident 08 Not For You 09 Rearviewmirror 10 Small Town 11 Go 12 Glorified G 13 Daughter/(Young Man Blues)/(W.M.A.) 14 Deep 15 Jeremy 16 Corduroy 17 Lukin DISC FOUR - ALTERNATIVE MIX 01 I Got Shit 02 Spin the Black Circle 03 Red Mosquito 04 (So You Want to Be a Rock 'n' Roll Star) (^) 05 Brain of J 06 Why Go 07 Black 08 Alive/(Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)) 09 Blood encore: 10 Ed talking 11 Leaving Here 12 Better Man 13 Immortality 14 Porch/(Three Little Birds) 15 So You Want to Be a Rock 'n' Roll Star (#)(!) 16 Indifference (^) = Ed solo (!) = first time played live (#) = with Ben Harper and the Fastbacks' Kim Warnick Recording Notes: The original mix by FGE uses more of the MWFM source, whereas the new alternate mix uses more of the Schoeps source for a fairly different, more audience-driven sound. Artwork and Release Notes: These are the discs 9, 10, 11, and 12 in a fan-created 18-disc boxed set called "The Monkeywrench Chronicles". Show Notes (thanks to Five Horizons): Ed opens the show early with the (then) unreleased 'Dead Man'. A little background on the live version: we have the Fastbacks to thank for this. Apparently Kim was backstage about to go on and was very nervous. Eddie asked her what was wrong and she told him she was nervous to walk out there to chants of "ed-DIE, ed-DIE". So, ed-DIE said, "I'll take care of that," grabbed a guitar, and walked out onstage. Many attendees didn't even recognize him at first. Later in their set, Ed quips, "So these are the faces I would have seen if I could have lifted my head up in San Francisco." After a long departure from these sort of antics, Ed climbs the speaker stacks and scaffolding during 'Porch.' He includes a bit of the 'Three Little Birds' tag in Porch, repeating the "every little thing's gonna be alright" line a few times. Ben Harper and Kim Warnick, from the Fastbacks, join PJ in 'Rock 'n Roll Star.' This is being distributed by blackredyellow.com in tandem with pj.sidewalkcrusaders.com, and is part of a series of the best Pearl Jam shows in existance. If the artwork is not included, you can find it at blackredyellow.com. Original notes compiled by BLG. Modified/more notes by spacedvest on 5/2/04.
