Recording Notes:

This recording is a post-production matrix comprised of Mark Van Blunk's audience tape [AKG 451 (xy) > D5 (preamp) > D8] and my soundboard tape [SBD > Sony SBM-1 > PCM-M1]. The master tapes were transferred to PC using the following setup: Sony PCM-R500 (AES/EBU digital out) > Audiophile 2496 soundcard (coax digital in) > Soundforge Studio XP (recording/normalizing/minor editing) > Vegas 3.0 (mixing) > CD Wave (track splits) > MKW > .shn files

Due to many factors, (including but not limited to the room size, stage set up, and PA system) both recordings left more to be desired in terms of both quality and mix. [This is obviously subjective as some may prefer the straight audience or soundboard recording.] In my opinion the matrix gives the soundboard recording a warmer ambiance while adding a crispness to the audience recording. I felt that such an epic show should be documented in the highest quality possible, hence my decision to mix the two sources. I hope you are as pleased with the results as I am. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or suggestions.

Enjoy!
