"Setlist help will really be appreciated here."

And I got it. Adrian (hardyweinberg) had posted his set list musings in the original threads comments here:
https://www.shnflac.net/index.php?page=torrent-details&id=b0a74e02657a53de682644be9499a1a72d761d0a
So I contacted him and asked if he'd listen to my re-tracking and give me his advice. He kindly (and quickly) did, I applied his notes and here we are. So thank you, Adrian! Very kind, very cool. And a good lesson for any of us, it never hurts to ask.

My notes, prior to Adrian’s invaluable involvement (plus a quote from Jorma’s site):
This was a fascinating find for me. I've never heard of this phase of their respective careers. From Jorma’s website:
“I got an email from an old friend, Mike Slater. He sadly informed me that Steve Farzan had passed. I had not seen Steve for a number of years but back in the mid 80’s we were band mates in a most idiosyncratic band, There Goes The Neighborhood. Somehow I briefly hooked up with Jaco Pastorius who I met one night at a gig at My Father’s Place in Roslyn, LI. I don’t really know how this happened but synchronicity is an amazing thing. Through Jaco I met Steve Sacher who played bass and replaced jaco when he disappeared, Ben Prevo who played guitar and was Steve’s roommate at that infamous apartment at #1 Lispenard Street. Rasheid Ali a colorful free jazz drummer lived around the corner on Greene St. Thanks to Steve’s connection with Jaco and ‘Sheid he found his way into our company. Last but not least, Steve Farzan came out from San Francisco… and there went the neighborhood.”

And it's a fun show, pretty well recorded. The vocals are the weak point (sorry Ben, but in the mix as well) but this ain't Van Morrison so we're here for the playing. This is a stereo recording as can be heard (on headphones) by differences in the applause after songs but as far as the P.A. is concerned it's a very narrow stereo image pushed hard to the right. I tried a bunch of settings to fix this but I didn't want to do any damage so I just settled on lowering the right channel. The left couldn't be brought up enough without introducing clipping. The left channel was actually a little brighter too.

The main thing I wanted to do though was retrack this as you'll see by comparing my track list with the original. Thanks to Wayne and Mike for getting this out to the rest of us, the tracking just left a little to be desired for me. There are three tracks in the early show that aren’t even mentioned in the original setlist. I'm not fully aware of all Jorma and Jaco's material so I followed the previous setlist when I could make out enough of the lyrics. A lot of this is jamming on blues standards and those I did know. I’ve included a screen grab of my original breakdown of this show. I did rethink and then incorporate all the different jams into the smallest possible number. There’s a bunch as the picture will show. Other tracks I could not identify so as always any help/corrections are appreciated.

There are some source changes we'll call them starting in "Baby What You Want Me to Do?" and lasting for a few minutes. It does settle down after a while. Not too terribly distracting, just warning you that it's there but will end soon enough. I didn't even notice when it ended otherwise I would have given you that info too.

Jaco does seem to be in a good mood musically this night. Actually they all do. He quotes a few songs in his playing, even Joni a few times. The sloppy Wipe Out jam starts with just him on bass. I don't know if this was something they'd ever played before or if it's a one-off but it takes a minute for them to figure it out then it's just fun. There's even a key shift about 3 minutes in! About 5:14 in (yes they play it that long) it may actually be another song they're riffing on. Jorma changes to a nice rhythm from the staccato playing of Wipe Out.

Editing notes:
- Lowered right channel 5dB to somewhat better center stereo image.
- Deleted tape flip tic and silence at 1 second into track 108.
- Smoothed transition at tape flip (10:51) in track 211.
- Smoothed cut/transition at beginning of track 213 which faded in.
- Deleted 8 second silence 5:26 into track 218 and did a very short crossfade to smooth it.
- Deleted 7 second silence 4:34 intro track 226 and did a 2 second crossfade. All things considered I was surprisingly kinda happy with this. It's a fast track rhythmically with a lot going on but I got pretty close.

(note: This Jaco/Jorma collaboration was a interesting phase for Jorma.
If you dig Miles Davis you'll enjoy this, but if you're a Tuna purist,
pass it by. Various level problems and tape flips were edited as best
as could be done using Samplitude with reasonable results)

Thanks to Wayne Gucwa for these great shows.
