Levels take about 30 seconds to settle down at the beginning of Apology, just give it time. The Ozone Vintage EQ was used to tame the bass and bring out the vocals.

This performance was in the afternoon before the band played the Fox Theater (across the street from Albums on the Hill), supported by The Other Half.  It seems like November might be a little cold for an outdoor show in Boulder, but maybe it was a nice day.  The Hatters (originally The Mad Hatters) was a Manhattan based jamband that relocated to Colorado at around this time.  Tom Kaelin was the drummer for Dreamspeak, another great New York City band from the last 80's / early 90's.  Rob Robles, who made this recording, was the drummer for The Other Half.  Drummers stick together.
