(1) At some point in the first set, as I was off for snacks, my stand caught
a gust and it went over. It was gracefully saved in mid fall by the taper
to my left (up wind of my spot), He used to be a goalie for the National Side,
UK... before the mics hit anthing at all. It was righted and my rig continued
to roll.

When I returned from my run, I noticed that the mic setup looked like it had
just steped out of the barn after a roll in the hay and was looking for a
cigarette.

I have audited the part that changed during that little event and decided not
to make any compensating level adjustments.

(2) I hear a fragmented homage to Spanish Moon in this... I could be wrong.

Post NOTES
(Only post processing noted below was applied to this material.)

Editing done in 16bit/48khz realm:
----------------------------------------------------------------
 - Fades -
IN/out (transitions between discs are seamless)

 - nip/Tuck - The transition of the end of set one and the start of
set two occurs as a short cross fade, with the track split made at
the start of the second set.

  - click & Pop reduction -
Random Blackberry interferance heard several times in the first
40min of the show. I was able to soften the impact somewhat, but
I left one incident untoched in d1t3 for reference and reminder.

 - Parametric EQ - 100hz/150hz width/+5.8 db
                   700hz/50hz width/+3.7 db
                   6570hz/10khz width/+5.8 db
                   Master gain -0.5db

The numbers

1. Off and on wind gusting to maybe 7-15mph, based on Old Glory/Beaufort Wind Speed
   estimation. http://www.redwitch.com/extras/flag_wind_speed.aspx

2. A count of 23-25 rigs ran between the 6-7 on the lawn and the balance in the
   OTS 50' ahead or so.

3. Number of rigs running larger wind screens and rats, 4.

4. Number of rigs running omni mics that I know of, 2.

5. Number of Schoeps MK41v rigs sporting cotton work glove finger tips and an umbrella
of black cotton athletic socks, 1. I'm axious to hear how this worked out.

6. Number of BlackBerry Buzzes occuring during this show, more than 6... I hate those things.

I met a Republican wOOkie:

At set break a young man dressed in (perhaps) K-Mart sandles, dark cargo
shorts, an equally dusty dark green "Hawaian" shirt came and layed down
in the isle of the lawn seating near my stand. It appeared, to quote
Sam Bush, that he'd "been to all 4 days the festival".

He layed on his back as the second set unfolded and as darkness fell upon
the bowl he remained in a state of suspended animation. A fellow taper
sitting behind me helped direct the flow of milling folks who came and went
near us, only 12' from an exit from this seating area. It came a time near the
end of the show when my friend had to leave to set up for another show at
the Saloon stage. I was on my own with sleeping beauty.

I was not conserned really but I didn't want to have to divide my attention
between my rig and its safty in the wind... and my good Samaritin tendencys
to help the young man from getting a face full of size 12 Jesus boots.

This is where I met the Republican wOOkie. I glanced up and saw this bare
chested wOOk standing at the kid's head in full awareness of his position.
He seemed to have no intention of going further down the isle anyway. I beckon
his heavy dreads closer and ask if he'd mind just standing there to help block
for this kid...I didn't want someone wearing glowstick flippers to stumble in
and light up his face. My motives were charitable.

The wOOk said, "Hey, no man, that's all on him," and he turned and left.

Is it just me or did this seem to be a juxtaposition of stereotypes
regarding the care we take... or not take... towards our fellow man's
well being? Aren't the Peace, Love, Dove wOOks into the "fellowship
of man" trip anymore?

Finally the mummy wakes and sits up just as the encore is geting near it's end,
and the young man says, "Did I miss the fireworks?"
