I recall sleeping bags everywhere, his kitchen being invaded by beers and deli food as well as his dog, a cool Irish Setter, running around grabbing as much pets and attention as she could. It was the first spring tour with ticket booklets so we had the same seats at almost every venue, even being seated near the same folks at each show. This specific recording was from Murtha and Steele's seats and being Nassau security was so tough we couldn't all patch in, so this copy is a first gen from Sean's master. You can hear the security guys going up the aisles clearing them out temporarily- "You'R in my aisle-LETS GO!" For those who were never at Nassau of course the aisle on the other side where no security was would fill up and they would take turns clearing out each aisle after about 10 minutes into each set. Musically speaking the Iko-Iko opener is strong with a nice transition into the Greatest Story Ever told, one of my all time tour favorite tunes. Jerry flubs the words to the middle verse of Althea and the crowd goes nuts over it- deadheads! They bring it in the jam section at the end though and again the crowd shows their appreciation. Bobby banged out a stomping Minglewood leading up to a soulful Row Jimmy which contained some beautiful keyboard sounds from Brent. The Second set opener combination of I Need a Miracle > Bertha had great energy but no extended ending to Bertha. The Looks Like Rain had the crowd quieted down and around the mics vey respectful, we got lucky. At the end of He's Gone you can hear Jerry and Phil start up a Truckin' jam but Bobby wasn't going to play it, so they noodled a bit and Jerry was the last one to leave stage before drums. Coming out of The Other One into China Doll they do some sweet comping and the transition from Throwing Stones into NFA is also stretched out a bit, the band seemed particularly "up" for this show. shntool: length expanded size cdr WAVE problems fmt ratio filename 0:16.39 2914172 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5869 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d1t01.flac 6:24.25 67796444 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.6538 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d1t02.flac 4:15.14 45014972 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.6281 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d1t03.flac 8:15.56 87449756 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.6131 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d1t04.flac 9:37.44 101886332 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.6448 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d1t05.flac 10:20.32 109443308 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.6246 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d1t06.flac 5:17.60 56059964 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.6349 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d1t07.flac 8:38.38 91465208 B -b- -- ---xx flac 0.6552 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d1t08.flac 1:38.61 17430716 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5301 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d2t01.flac 4:12.49 44568092 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.6187 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d2t02.flac 6:09.55 65221004 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.6252 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d2t03.flac 8:07.18 85949180 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5722 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d2t04.flac 14:45.07 156130508 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5682 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d2t05.flac 6:24.56 67869356 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5708 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d2t06.flac 18:08.16 191960876 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5203 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d2t07.flac 7:01.57 74398508 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5909 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d2t08.flac 5:50.01 61742396 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5520 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d2t09.flac 9:07.25 96549644 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5930 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d2t10.flac 8:08.02 86087948 B --- -- ---xx flac 0.5893 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d2t11.flac 5:40.59 60114228 B -b- -- ---xx flac 0.6194 gd1984-04-30mke2002-16d2t12.flac 148:20.39 1570052612 B 0.5954 (20 files)
