Excellent sound quality from the tapers section. These Beacon 1997 shows are very bittersweet for me. On one hand, you have the band hitting on all cylinders with some of the best playing since the band reformed in 1989. The ressurection of 'High Falls' is the shining jewel. On the other hand, no one could have forseen that Warren and Allen would be dumped by Dickey in April over the Gov't Mule Capricorn record deal. And just like that, the silver age for the ABB came to an abrupt end. The Jack Pearson shows from 1997-1999 are pretty decent, but Warren's singing, slide playing and Allen's thunderous bass playing are sorely missed. And once Dickey was dumped in 2000, ABB became a cover band, never again serious about new ABB music as Dickey proved he was the always the leader of the band, and the band had no true direction after he left.

So, I have several of these 1997 Beacon shows to share, the last ray of the ABB silver age. Enjoy these shows, because as much as I hate to say it about one of my favorite bands, its all downhill after these Beacon 1997 shows.
