Pretty rare (to my knowledge) recording of the last incarnation of WR to feature Jaco. Tour came in between the recording of the Night Passage and Weather Report albums. The Weather Report release came out early in 82, so the tracks here from that (Volcano, Current Affairs, N.Y.C., and Speechless) may not even have been recorded yet at the time of this show.
The sound is good, although I have no knowledge of the equipment used or lineage before I got in many years ago in a trade. Enough traders have sought this out from me that I know it's not in many collections, so hopefully it'll be new to many of you. Not sure if it's been on DIME prior to this.
Not sure, but think this might've been Jaco's last tour with WR before his solo era and troubles.
