YUJA WANG PLAYS BEETHOVEN, NELSONS CONDUCTS SIMON AND ELLINGTON
Powerhouse pianist Yuja Wang joins the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood in Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4, followed up by two captivating encores by Mendelssohn and Prokofiev. Her stellar playing is preceded by Warmth from Other Suns, a work of contemporary composer Carlos Simon. After the intermission, we hear a pair of compositions by jazz legend Duke Ellington, the orchestral triptych Three Black Kings and the symphonic jazz work, Harlem.
