Comment
Here we have the complete final concert of Alan Gilbert's inaugural season as Music Direector of the New York Philharmonic. Gilbert chose to conclude his first season with a towering work: Beethoven's complex and moving late-period Missa Solemnis. The performance features the New York Choral Artists under the direction of Joseph Flummerfelt, with vocal soloists Christine Brewer, Jane Henschel, Andthony Dean Griffey, and Eric Owens. Before the intermission we hear the World Premiere of Al largo by Magnus Lindberg.+
