Covers
Back then, a friend hooked me up with press photos of the event, which I used to make the CD cover at the time, but the original JPGs are long gone; for the CD covers (included), I scanned the covers I made at the time back in and touched them up as best I could in Photoshop.

Show Info
This was a surprise "NAMM Jam" held by Shure Microphones during the Winter NAMM Convention, at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA. After a blistering 90-minute set by Living Colour, the band came back out and announced they had some friends who wanted to sit in. For the next hour, we were just blown away by the most eclectic group of musicians I've ever seen on one stage.

The "Awws" during Sheila E.'s first solo were when she bounced her stick 15 feet in the air and couldn't quite catch it--but you can hear the cheering when she finally got it. Johnny Hiland particularly stood out because he was new to the NAMM scene back then--no one quite knew who the guy in the cowboy hat was, but we all left determined to find out. I taped this maybe 10-12 feet from the stage (it's a shallow room) towards stage left. I tried to take a few photos during the set and you can hear a security guard come by and tell me to stop. Luckily, he didn't see my recorder!
