Mitch’s notes: Tut Taylor Archive Reel #280 takes us to the famed Nashville institution, Exit/In, for a partial late set from Tut Taylor & Friends (opening for John Hartford). Tut announces that the show is being recorded and that he and his buddies are just going to jam with the hopes that something good happens that is worthy of release. Jam they do…although, alas, a release never occurred. “Goodlettsville Express” and “Tribute To Oswald” are especially nice to hear played live. Too bad the tape ends before we get the chance to hear Tut and Norman play some twin mandolin. See Tut Reels #276, #277, #281, #282, #283, #284, #285, and #286 for other Tut & Friends recordings made at the Exit/In during a run of shows from 10/2 – 10/6/73.
