There is a photo of the Dead playing here sometime in summer '67, at one of the San Francisco Examiner-sponsored "summer jazz rock concerts". A date for the event has not been found yet, however. See http://deadessays.blogspot.com/2015/09/deadbase-corrections.html for more information
