Continuing Radio 2's 50s season, singer Joe Brown pays tribute to influential rock 'n' roll/rockabilly singer, songwriter and guitarist Eddie Cochran , who died in a Wiltshire car crash in April 1960. In his native USA Cochran is known mainly for his one top ten hit (1958's Summertime Blues), while in Britain he hit big with C'mon Everybody (1959) and the posthumous 1960 number one Three Steps to Heaven. The programme features input from Robert Plant, biographer and guitarist Darrel Higham , historian Rob Finnis , engineer Stan Ross , British rock 'n' rollers Marty Wilde and Vince Eager, and, in archive recordings, George Harrison and Eddie Cochran.
