Iconic performer Robert Plant will soon return to the road in support of Carry Fire, his new studio album due out on October 13. Today, Plant has shared a new track from the LP and announced the first leg of Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters 2018 World Tour.

Plant and his band will tour North America from early February through early March. The tour is slated to start in Raleigh on February 9 and continues with stops in Charlotte, Norfolk, New York City, Boston, Toronto and Chicago. From there, the former Led Zeppelin vocalist brings his band to Minneapolis, Denver, Phoenix and Oakland. The tour is currently set to conclude at L.A.’s Orpheum on March 2, though additional dates will be announced soon.

Carry Fire is the 11-track follow-up to 2014’s lullaby and…The Ceaseless Roar with The Sensational Space Shifters made up of Justin Adams, John Baggott, Dave Smith and Liam “Skin” Tyson. Guests include Pretenders vocalist Chrissie Hynde as well as Albanian cellist Redi Hasa and violinist/fiddler (and recent addition to The Space Shifters) Seth Lakeman.
As Robert Plant gears up for the release of his new album, Carry Fire, next month, he’s announced the first round of tour dates in support of the record.

The initial round of tour dates, all of which are in North America, start on Feb. 9 in Raleigh, N.C., and wrap up about three weeks later on March 2 in Los Angeles. More dates are promised later. You can see the current list of shows below.

Carry Fire, which comes out on Oct. 13, is Plant’s 11th album as a solo artist. It follows 2014’s Lullaby … and the Ceaseless Roar in style and tone, and once again features contributions by Plant’s backup band the Sensational Space Shifters, who spent almost two years on the road with him last time and will join him on the new tour. In addition to some classical and world music guests, Carry Fire also includes an appearance by Chrissie Hynde, who sings on the new “Bluebirds Over the Mountain.”

“It’s about intention,” Plant says of the new album in a press release. “I respect and relish my past works but each time I feel the trawl and incentive to create new work. I must mix old with new. Consequently, the whole impetus of the band has moved on its axis somewhat, the new sound and different space giving way to exciting and dramatic landscapes of mood, melody and instrumentation.”
