Some details about the venue, Pauluskirche):
This is an "active" protestant church with a very liberal vicar allowing even of a quite pagan band playing their unholy set at Halloween
which at the same time is one of the protestant's holiest holidays, the reformation day. OK, it was not allowed to bring any drinks inside
the church but they organized a sort of a bar outside the venue which was quite frequented before and after the shows (Lynx Lynx was the opener).
Also there was quite a big space right in front of the altar where the bands played which was initially intended to be a sit down area
as it was slightly elevated in relation to the church benches behind. But shortly after the Fuzztones started to play this
was the main spot for dancing.
The acoustic is not the best as there is a lot of echo created in the depth of the very high main aisle. But standing close to the PA reduced
the echo drastically.
As mentioned before the local Dortmund band Lynx Lynx opened the evening and they did it quite well. Their set will also be uploaded.
To see the Fuzztones playing their unholy set in such a holy hall was very impressing.
Surely the outstanding part was by Lana Loveland playing the original church organ right at the start and also later for the most part.
The band started with some ghastly make-up which later became a bit smeared off by the sweat-inducing action of the guys.
But this all fits in their more horror and zombie-like appearance during the band's halloween shows.
The climax of this couldn't have been chosen better as with the very doomy D. O. A. which is documented also on video.
The flyer of the show as well as some photos are attached.
