CONCERT REVIEW:

"It was somewhat appropriate that Dallas was the last stop on the Lynch Mob tour schedule that reunited guitarist George Lynch with original Lynch Mob members, vocalist Oni Logan and former Dokken bandmate drummer "Wild" Mick Brown.

The show started with a surprise opening performance by Willie Basse, whom you might remember as the bassist / vocalist from the metal band Black Sheep. Basse is a Fort Worth native, and since this was Lynch Mob's last show, he offered to open the show so he could spend more time visiting family and friends. Basse was backed by Italian guitarist, Patrick Abbate, who can shred with the best of them, and current White Lion drummer Troy Patrick Farrell.

Following Willie Basse were the local favorites Brand New Machine and Revengeance. For lack of better words, BNM rocked with catchy songs that carried lots of swagger and attitude. Revengeance, quite possibly, is the most improved band in the Metroplex. They have always been an entertaining band to watch, but a recent line-up change, coupled with the addition of some killer new songs, has this band sounding better than ever.

From the moment Lynch Mob took the stage and launched into the opening number, "She's So Evil But She's Mine," you could tell how much fun they were having while playing together. George Lynch is still one of the best guitarists on the planet and Oni Logan's voice sounds as good today as it did in the 80's. "Wild" Mick Brown beat the hell out of his drum kit and together with Ratt bassist, Robbie Crane, added perfect backing vocals to compliment each song. Much to the fans delight, the set list was a combination of songs from Lynch Mob's debut, Wicked Sensation and their latest, Smoke and Mirrors, mixed in with a few Dokken classics thrown in for good measure.

Brown seemed to enjoy himself the most. In between songs and doing shots, he interacted regularly with the audience. At one point he asked, "Does anyone want to hear a Dokken song?" As the crowd roared their approval the drummer replied, "Too bad ... We're gonna play one anyway!"

Some of the night's many highlights included "River of Love," "All I Want" and "Rain." Also Dokken's "Into the Fire," "Tooth and Nail," "When Heaven Comes Down" and George's signature instrumental masterpiece, "Mr. Scary." The show ended with an extra long version of Lynch Mob's biggest hit to date, "Wicked Sensation." As Brown put it, "We're Lynch Mob, what else did you think we were going to play?" Following a fantastic show, the entire band went to the merchandise table and signed autographs and took photos with their fans."
