Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble
Odds & Ends Compilation #1

Compilation 1 of 7

THIS TORRENT CONTENT HAS CHANGED, so if you managed to successfully download the "Odd & Sods #1," before it was
banned, you need this too. I don't know if anyone actually finished that download.

Various VHS tapes of various and mostly unknown and/or questionable generation>DVD

Imagine a time when there was no digital media and no internet. Using mail, actual mail, not email, writing letters, purchasing
advertisements in magazines like Goldmine or in local newspapers around the country, traders sniffed out recordings of their favorite
artists. Trade after trade was made, person to person, in the US and around the globe,
seeking improved copies and new material. No copy was as good as the origina, instead each copy degraded.
There was wide variation in tape quality and quality of VHS recorders. Then the internet comes along, and right away these traders see its
true potential- a way to connect with SRV fans and score more music!

Take a trip back with me as I present, for your viewing pleasure, what has to be the single largest compilation of Stevie Ray Vaughan clips
ever assembled! This multi-disc compilation features only shorter clips, mostly under 20 minutes, that have never been officially
released and a very small number of longer clips that usually circulated in shorter versions. Many were onlybroadcast once.
These clips are all from pro shots or audience shots that are too short to post individually but worth having.

For those of you who are younger and have grown up with digital media, remember that every one of these clips is sourced from
a VHS tape. Every one of these clips represents a trade with another person known by name, not screen name. We never liked to mail blank tape,
so we would fill every second with small clips like these. Full shows are great, but these clips give a lot of insight into Stevie's life
and career and personality. I hope you enjoy watching them.

Here they are in all their glory, the snippets we lived for in those days. This collection represents at least 15 years of trades and
friendships from the mid 80's to the turn of the century.Since that time, I have retired from active trading and tape only very
occasionally. This is essentially like getting a free collection of almost all unofficial SRV except full or near full-length shows that
was ever traded 'back in the day' of snail mail trading.

I dedicate these compilations with great thanks to all of my trader friends from back in the day, at least 2 or 3 of
whom are here on DIME. Thanks to Jim C., Andy D., Steve T., John D., Jean, the late Nedra, Craig K., Krista, and everyone else I'm forgetting
at the moment.

Compiled and uploaded by Mudster with compliance of the DIME rules and respect for officially released material for the viewing pleasure
of fans of Stevie Ray Vaughan & his great band Double Trouble.

PLEASE NOTE:

If you repost this anywhere else, please include this original info file, even if you reauthor the DVD's to have nice menus or something

Please don't reseeed this on DIME when it drops off the tracker; I'll do that myself. I hang around here a lot. Feel free to request it.

I suggest playing the DVD's on a 1080p upconverting DVD player rather than on your computer.

The quality varies considerably, don't complain, upload a better version. This is VHS sourced after all.

The quality of one compilation in the series should not be used as a reference to the quality of the other discs.

These clips are in random order as I rediscoverd the clips going through boxes of VHS tapes. They are not in any order of quality so that
disc 1 would be the best stuff and disc 6 the dregs. There is no plan to the order of the compilations or clips.

These clips came from roughly 50-75 different VHS tapes. It is much easier to watch them all compiled onto DVDs. Since I did this,
I might as well share it. Please don't complain about how I chose to do this, it is just for fun.

Technical information is provided, but bitrate varies.

Please make copies for your friends and proactively eliminate any potential market for the unscrupulous who might sell this.

Should you sell it, may a curse be upon you and may you experience a lifetime of premature ejaculation and guitar stings breaking at
crucial points in all your solos.

If you can upgrade any of them, please do.

These compilations do have menus, but there are not song titles on the menu. They simply say "title 1, title II, and so forth."

Some dates may be wrong, some circulate under several names, I could evenly mistakenly include the same thing twice,

I went to great efforts to try to comply with all applicable DIME policies. Some cool clips were left out because they are lip syncs.
I may put them, without audio, onto disc 7 just so you can have them.

Special thanks to the moderators for helping me with guidelines for inclusion of interviews/clips that include offically released music.
Very helpful, thanks guys!

All shows feature:
Stevie Ray Vaughan - guitar, voc
Chris Whipper Layton - drums
Tommy Shannon, bass, voc
1985 and later include Reese Wynans, keys

When other musicians appear, they are noted in that compilation description.

OFFENDING TRACKS removed due to being reportedly broadcast on the SHOWTIME network. I have researched thes clips
carefully and believe all clips on all discs to now be in compliance with DIME policies. Thank you to the mods for their help.

THIS TORRENT HAS BEEN RENAMED TO AVOID CONFUSION AS SOME MATERIAL AND RUNNING ORDER HAS CHANGED since the original torrent was banned.

TRACK LISTING FOR DISC 1:

1. The first time I got this is was listed as "Palace Dance Show," and it does look like it could have been shot in the Palace, a club
in Hollywood, CA. The second time, it just said "Palace."
It is circa 83 and SRV plays Lovestruck Baby & Pride and Joy

2. 7/85 "Thrill of a lifetime" candadian TV. Guy gets to meet and jam w/ Stevie

3. Mantague Center, Beaumont, TX - TV footage as broadcast and uncut, very rough at times, but still cool. Includes "Ain't Gone 'n Give up
on Love" live

4. Misc. Canadian TV appearances - this first part was on the 2nd Chronological Compilation I posted, I think it is Toronto 88,
but it could be another nearby city or province. Unknown Instrumental> Lovestruck baby (cuts in progress) 1 gen higher
than the last one I posted and contains more footage.

5. Continued Canadian footage circa 89/90 - House Is Rockin' > Crossfire (cuts)>Colin James comes out>Lovestruck Baby

6. SRV & Jeff Healy, "It's Only Rock 'n Roll" Toronto circa 1987, Look at Little Sister (this and a few seconds of Beaumont are about
as bad as the videos go on this entire set of 6 DVDs.

7. 1989, Jeff Beck & SRV "Live from UIC Arena) w/ Terry Bozzio Drums, Tony Hymas keys, "Goin' Down" Text on video says UCP Arena,
which is why this is commonly mislabled as such.

8. Seattle 89 - Audience shot from floor, Voodoo Chile (a slight return) > Third Stone. If you actually listen, SRV does some
very cool things in Tribute to Jimi in his hometown, coaxing a lot of Hendrixian sounds in Third Stone.

9. Fiddler's Green, Englewood CO, 1990/07/17 - Collin's Shuffle, complete and uncut, 1 gen better than what is on "Chronological
comp. #2, plus uncut. Ignore unknown date in SRV books, I was there, have stub, this is correct date

10. Music Link Red Rocks interview circa 1989. Red Rocks is in Morrison, CO, which is essentially Denver.

11. Don't Mess With Texas, SRV plays a bit of slide

12. Umbria Jazz Festival, 1985/07/16 - almost 5 years to the day earlier than Fiddler's, Audience shot. 16-17 mins,
includes "Scuttle Buttin (starts in progress)> Say what, Ain't Gone 'n Give up on Love.

13. Fitzgerald's, Houston TX, 1982; Since I removed a good sized bit of video from the banned torrent, I added this often requested
footage. Don't get too excited, it is VERY dark and you can barely see SRV at all. Still, he does play Voodoo Chile (a slight return),
Heartfixer, and Pride and Joy. You can see him a little bit better on the 2nd and 3rd song, but it is overall too dark.

Just FYI, I looked over the footage that is traded as "Saturday Night Live rehersal" and it is not a rehearsal, it is the same as
what was broadcast, so it won't be included on this, or any, disc because both songs were officially released.
