*Saint Maybe, from Tucson, Arizona, was the opening band. Oliver Ray, singer and guitarist of Saint Maybe, joined Patti Smith and her band on electric guitar for the encore, which consisted of "Wing" and "Rock N Roll Nigger".
*In addition to dedicating certain songs to celebrated figures of art and culture like Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, Television, Tom Verlaine, Roberto Bolaño, and Adam Yaucht as well as planet Earth and the people of Mexico; Patti also referenced and condemned the murder of three journalists in Veracruz, Mexico, and dedicated "Peaceable Kingdom" to the victims, having previously remarked the importance of journalism in society.
