In search of Miles Davis's legacy and influence outside America, Ulli Pfau traces the most important steps of his European career and visits the places where Miles has left his European footprints. Speakers are musicians who worked with him (Dave Holland, John McLaughlin, Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen), festival directors (Claude Nobs, Montreux Jazz and Paul Acket, North Sea Jazz Festival) as well as Juliette Greco and Louis Malle who Miles met during the recordings of the legendary soundtrack for the film noir classic L'Ascenseur pour l'échafaud. In some rare archival interviews, Miles speaks of his European impressions and musical influences.
