Program:
"Great American songs would be nothing without the iconic artists who perform them. This series of concerts pays tribute to some of these American icons. The June 3 and 4 concerts celebrate the sounds of Motown’s biggest hits with Ellis Hall, virtuoso multi-instrumentalist and former lead singer of the R&B, funk/soul band Tower of Power, and include pieces by George Gershwin and Aaron Copland, and a performance by Pops cellist Mihail Jojatu of the Cello Concerto by the Austrian classical/jazz pianist Friedrich Gulda.
Presenting Ellis Hall's tribute to Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Tower of Power and Motown.
Selections to be announced from the stage" - bso.org
