The Pasty Tapes Vol. 3, Various, Various
Set 1
Manifest Destiny/Sorority Tears (rough mix)
From the forthcoming album, "GANGING UP ON THE SUN,", though it's most
likely to appear on the new record without the cross-faded back half. I
mean, we're very proud of our first instrumental track, but we're not
sure we'd want to listen to it every time through our album. Perfect for
the Pasty Tapes.
Days
This is one of our favorite songs by one of our favorite bands, The
Kinks. Someone in England asked us to cover the song for a movie they
were making and we couldn't say no. Whether that movie will ever come
out remains to be seen. They say Sally Field is supposed to be in it.
The Sun Shines Down On Me
This appeared on a tribute compilation called "The Late Great Daniel
Johnston: Discovered, Covered." Daniel Johnston isn't dead, but he is a
little obese and kind of schizophrenic. And a genius songwriter to boot.
We released this song on the limited edition UK E.P. "Come Downstairs
and Say Hello."
Dear Valentine (live)
Recorded live in Bosotn, with a little help from our friends. The studio
version of this song will be on the new album.
On My Own
There wasn't really room for this one on the album, but that's why we're
glad to have the Pasty Tapes. That's Joe singing. Joe's just a tree.
