From Dime torrent notes:
Although this isn’t an “essential†SRV show, this one is certainly a good representation of Stevie and the band as they begin to move from opening to headline status. The recording sounds to me like it was made in either one of the tents or one of the smaller stages by the beer tents, and not from the main stage. There is a distinct flavor to the summer 84 shows as opposed to the shows from the fall of the same year. Stevie was still relatively unknown and only had one album out. He was a real badass onstage at this time, with lots of amazing tricks.
This show is a fairly close recording, although the sound changes a bit toward the end (probably getting more crowded) and Stevie is playing real well. This is one you’ll want to listen to fairly often if you are an SRV fan that doesn’t just archive these shows but actually wants good shows to enjoy.
