"The guy who said this was a new musical approach wasn't kidding. Kilti-Chok is 'culture shock' in boldface caps. It's Jimmi, 'Dadi', 'Bonga', and Sergo - four Haitians on guitar, bass, and percussion, trained in their island country's roots music - plus Michiko, a young lady with a classical piano background. And the results? Amazingly like jazz!"
Now i wouldn't say they are amazingly like jazz, but it definitely has a jazzy feel to it. lots of drum rhythms, native chants, but with smooth basslines and guitar, and drifting piano. very interesting.
