Baker, and d) Doc Watson performing solo, and a recording of the first Bill Monroe and Earl Scruggs reunion
in 31 years at the Bean Blossom Festival, Bean Blossom, IN, September 1979; Monroe's Blue Grass Boys at the
time were Kenny Baker-fiddle, Wayne Lewis-guitar, Butch Robins-banjo, & Mark Hembree-bass. The musical power
and exuberance displayed during this all-too-brief Monroe-Scruggs reunion set, especially during the lengthy
medley, defines bluegrass music for me; if someone asks what makes bluegrass special, you need only pull out
this recording.
