This VLS compilation is intended as a celebration of Van's commercial releases throughout his career, and features live performances of the title songs of those recordings. Putting together a compilation of this magnitude --- covering four decades of live shows! --- meant using a variety of sources. As a result, the sound volume, even though normalized, may not be consistent from track to track, and in some instances the transitions between tracks have been forced with fades. Nevertheless, we trust that these minor sonic flaws will be more than compensated for by the sheer enjoyment of hearing these fantastic songs again in a live performance. We offer this VLS compilation as a small but potent reminder of the inestimable joy that Van's commercial recordings have brought to so many of his fans. Rave On!
