According to Doug Hinman's fantastic book "The Kinks - All Day and All of the Night" (buy it!):
"One show from the three-night run is videotaped in black and white by RCA Records. This is transferred to 16mm film and (was) released theatrically in the US for a limited time from July. But it is eventually pulled after an objection by the band and because of the film's poor visual quality."
This is the Soap Opera film, poor visual quality and all! I got this on a VHS tape in a trade back in 1990 or so, and decided to transfer it to DVD before said tape degrades to dust. The video looks fairly good...maybe third or fourth generation from a film transfer. I asked around a couple of Kinks mailing lists and couldn't find a better copy circulating digitally, and the tape does nobody any good if it rots in a cupboard, so in the spirit of Preservation here's a gift to the Kinks fan community.
