IT WAS 40 YEARS AGO TODAY
New versions of the classic tracks
To mark the 40th anniversary of the release of Sgt. Pepper's
Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles, the album's engineer,
Geoff Emerick, heads back to the studio with some of today's top
artists to create new versions of the album's classic tracks.
Will today's musicians succeed in recording their versions of
the songs using the original studio equipment from 1967, and
with only a day to record each song?
Part 1 is a documentary, shot as the artists were recording the
tracks. Part 2 is the BBCi broadcast of the finished tracks.
