This is an excellent sounding excerpt of a show that was originally billed as Ceasefire during the Stockholm Orientfestivalen in 2006. Emmanuel Jal is also on stage though he is not prominent in the tracks that were chosen for broadcast. Abdel Gadir Salim is a singer, composer and oud player from the Kordofan province, who studied European and Arabic music at the Institute of Music & Drama in Khartoum, and who is a venerated master of northern Sudanese music.
