Making their third appearance at the Waterfront Blues Festival, "Jersey Soul" features the distinctive style of popular Portland guitarist Kenny Lavitz and the soulful vocals of New York's Judy Tint. Kenny is a mainstay at clubs, festivals and special events on the Northwest music scene, and a featured artist on local radio, appearing regularly as a solo artist and with his blues/funk/jazz project, the Kenny Lavitz Kombo. The Oregonian says of Kenny, "Blues, rock, jazz, you name it, this guitarist can play them all in grand style; whether playing solo or with his band, he can really deliver." His latest album, "Too Many Hats," highlights his impeccable musicianship and clever songwriting.Joining Kenny is singer (and music lawyer) Judy Tint, a New York native and part-time Portlander who has made many East Coast club appearances with her band, "Jude and the Dudes," as well as having toured with The Four Tops, and sung background and played percussion with numerous R&B greats. She brings a sultry mix of bluesy covers and select originals, as well as a mean tambourine. Judy is particularly pleased to be appearing to benefit the Oregon Foodbank, having originated an online charity drive, supported largely by music fans, which has provided well over one million meals to date through programs including The Foodbank for New York City, The Community Foodbank of New Jersey, and America's Second Harvest. Rounding out "Jersey Soul" are Portland stand-outs Dave Fleschner on keyboards, Tim Bly on saxophone, Willie Barber on bass, and Donnie Worth on drums.
