Unannounced free concert on the streets of New York
Here's how it went:
My friend was in Puglia's for dinner. Someone came in and said the Doobie Brothers Were setting up outside on the street to do a free concert. As any good prepared Boy Scout would be, he always carried a recorder. At the beginning you can hear the sounds of the restaurant as he turned on the machine, gave it to his girlfriend and sent her outside to start recording as he paid the bill. After the first couple of songs, the quality clears up as he took over and raised the deck up to get a better sound.
A classic taper's story if I ever heard one.
