CHANCE'S NOTES:
Kenny McDowell was the vocalist for The Mad Lads in Belfast in 1965 when they were the support band for Them at the Maritime Hotel. When Van Morrison departed Them in late 1966, McDowell took over as vocalist. Jim Armstrong was the guitarist for the Belfast
showband The Melotones (while working a day job in a bank). In September 1965 he became the lead guitarist for Them, replacing Joe Boni (who had replaced original lead guitarist Billy Harrison). For a discography of post-Van Morrison Them albums, see: http://www.harbour.sfu.ca/~hayward/van/discography/ixl-themalbums.html#part2
Of the bands (aside from Them) represented here--Bronco, Light and Sk'boo--only Sk'boo has ever recorded, an extremely rare EP released in the late 1970s.
Currently, Kenny McDowell is performing in Ireland as part of the Kenny McDowell/Ronnie Greer Blues Band, which released a small-label CD in 2003 called "Live At The Island". There is a 2004 interview with Kenny McDowell (by Trevor Hodgett) at:

Jim Armstrong is currently performing as part of The Jim Armstrong Band: http://www.jimarmstrongband.com
There is an informative article on Them (with and without Van
Morrison), which features excerpts from an interview with Jim
Armstrong, at http://www.cherryred.co.uk/books/irishfolktradandblue_txt.php
