KTS 275 - "Complete Chicago Sessions"
In 1991 and 1993, Sting and his band performed acoustically on The Timothy White Sessions, an interview/performance radio series hosted by the late editor-in-chief of Billboard Magazine. The sessions were very loose with no pre-determined setlist. Sting and band would play the songs as they naturally came up in conversation. This CD contains the performances only. There are fades on two tracks that eliminate the host talking over the performance. They do not affect the listening quality of the track.
The performances are brilliant all around: a startingly-reworked "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You", an instrumental cover of "The Wind Cries Mary" (Sting didn't know the lyrics!), a rare performance of the beautiful b-side "I Miss You Kate", an improvised cover of "Be Bop A Lula", an impressive rendition of "A Day In The Life", and many more. This is inspired stuff, proving that Sting is an incredible musician as well as a songwriter.
This compilation is missing "Love Is Stronger Than Justice" from the 1993 session. The 1993 tracks are presented first.
