Comment
Possibly the very first Mercury Rising tour bootleg recorded, aside from some TV and radio promos. Three days later Sting would record just such a promo for nationwide U.S. radio with old band mate Bradford Marsalis interviewing him. In fact Bradford joins the band for this live gig!
Very personable and intimate performance. Lots of conversation with audience. Sting re-arranges the set list as he goes, commenting about Twenty-Five to Midnight (one of my favorites) that he now wished it had been included in the album. One or two tracks are cut-off, perhaps some on-the-fly editing to squeeze it all on a 90 minute cassette?
The audio is disappointing, probably an analog tape deck with little sound depth. But all lyrics and comments are completely audible and there is little if any echo.
