Alice Cooper 1970-01-01
Remembering The Coop, Various, Various

Set 1
Don't Blow Your Mind
The Spiders

An unreleased version of the Spiders single not included in the Rhino
box set "The Life and Crimes of Alice Cooper."

Avalon Ballroom
San Francisco

No Longer Umpire / Reflected / 10 Minutes Before the Worm / Sing Low,
Sweet Cheerio / B.B. on Mars / Fields of Regret / Nobody Likes Me /
Don't Blow Your Mind

If you've never heard Pretties for You or Easy Action-era Alice, you
don't know what you're missing--but here's you chance to find out. As
Frank Zappa once told the band, "I play with some of the best
musicians
in the world, but it would take them a month to learn some of your
songs." And here's why! If "Reflected" sounds familiar, that's because
it was reworked a few years later into the Cooper classic "Elected."

Seattle
1971
Sun Arise / Caught in a Dream / Is It My Body? / Second Coming / The
Ballad of Dwight Frye / Black Juju

Here's where the band was just hitting their stride, after practically
being re-taught to play their instruments by producer Bob Ezrin. The
tension you hear isn't your imagination (totally); by this time the
band
was not only redefining their own image but re-estabishing the
boundaries of rock and roll, for themselves, a generation of fans,
and,
yes, a galaxy of imitators. Can you say Marilyn Manson?

Hollywood Bowl
Los Angeles
23July1972
intro by Wolfman Jack / Public Animal #9 / Be My Lover / I'm
Eighteen /
Is It My Body? / Halo of Flies / Gutter Cat vs. the Jets / Street
Fight
/ Killer / Long Way to Go / School's Out

Ah, yes! Released on vinyl as "You're All Crazier than I Am," probably
our favorite Cooper boot. Whatta show this is. Wolfman Jack introduced
the band (after taking the stage on a camel!) before they launched
into
a wonderful performance on what must have been a hot, hot night. You
need only listen to "Halo of Flies" to know what we mean! Keep an ear
peeled during "School's Out" as one of the audience members
says, "Look
at the helicopters!" They were dropping panties on the crowd at the
time . . .

Pittsburgh
1972
Be My Lover / You Drive Me Nervous / Yeah Yeah Yeah / I'm Eighteen /
Halo of Flies / Is It My Body?

Another excellent show that includes a nice version of "Yeah, Yeah,
Yeah."

Portland
24May1973
Unfinished Sweet / Sick Things / Dead Babies / I Love the Dead /
School's Out

The sound is a little choppy here, and the tape badly edited, but this
is an interesting document of a '73 show that we had to include
because
everyone should hear "Dead Babies" live at least once!

The way you archive these files is up to you, depending on how you
maintain your collection. Save each show to a separate disc if you
like, or burn them in order. To burn to CD-DA with an eye to
conservation of media and chronological integrity, may we suggest,
