The show is often incorrectly attributed to September 11th due to a confusion of the US & UK dating system. It is actually November 9. On September 11, 1979, The Gang of Four played the Geary Temple in San Francisco with the Dils & Buzzcocks, a show cited by Greil Marcus http://www.gillmusic.com/go4_history.html and the Complete Buzzcocks book.
