"Hailing from Canada, Barenaked Ladies first gained popularity in the
U.S. with their hit song "One Week." Their popularity continued to
soar as music fans learned of their unique lyricism and the non-stop
humor they bring to their songs, videos and live shows. For this
episode of VH1's You Rock With... BNL chose the tongue twister
"One Week" as a challenge only a true BNL fan could master.
Competing to get on stage with their prankster idols are three aspiring
singers. There's Brooke Lynn, a receptionist from Ohio whose innate
goofiness has made her a lifelong BNL fan. There is Rick, a
singer/songwriter from LA. Rick has recently recovered from crystal
meth addiction and attributes much of his sobriety to the upbeat music
of Barenaked Ladies. Rounding out the trio is Wood. Wood hitchhiked to
LA nearly ten years ago, determined to make it or die trying. With his
quirky personality and unique musical style, he is a true BNL fan.
These three hopefuls will duke it out in a "One Week" lyric-fest,
trying their hardest to win that one spot onstage - but knowing BNL,
they're in for a few surprises as well..."
