It's a long way from sweet home Alabama for alt-rockers Remy Zero. And maybe that's a good thing. Because the band didn't complete their sound evolution until they holed themselves up in the seedy surroundings of an infamous Hollywood flophouse and found the inspiration for their breakthrough album, 1998's Villa Elaine. All of the sudden, everybody was talking about the band formerly known as rock's best kept secret (lead singer Cinjun Tate's short-lived but high-profile marriage to actress Alyssa Milano didn't hurt either). 2001's Golden Hum has critics comparing Remy Zero to the likes of U2 and Radiohead, so tune into GetMusic's interview and performance and be ready to have a new favorite band.
