Recorded on April 12, 2007 at HairyLarryLand Credits: Producer - Larry Heyl Performer - Hairy Larry Comments: I love the sound of this song and it is certainly a slower tempo than my recent bluegrass pieces so I called it "Slow Dance" I didn't think it was too windy so I risked the budget Audio Technica MB400c condensor mic with a windscreen and an EV 357b vocal mic tailored for female vocals. Still I got wind noise and it was worse on the condensor. I rolled off 9 db at 100hz and 3 db at 200 hz so the wind doesn't sound too bad and even adds a little bit to the video with the leaves and my beard blowing in the wind. (hey, that's a song title) I was very much impressed with the guitar sound on the Audio Technica mic. Not so much with the EV. It may be a good vocal mic but it certainly lacks high end for acoustic guitar. Still the stereo recording sounded better than either mic, something I often notice.
