Mics were turned to follow them. Note: There is a static-like or faint crackling sound in the left channel throughout the recording, I suspect, although I can only hear it during the quieter parts. It's very distracting to me listening with headphones. I'm not sure how apparent it is when listening with desktop monitors (haven't tried it). I must have had a loose connection somewhere in the rush to set up.
