And maybe You'd take me by the hand and then maybe I could be your man and maybe You could be my woman too And there we'd be, walking under pine trees Watching the sun set out over the sea Alone in the dusk, I'd steal a little kiss and Everything would be all right. Yes maybe The stars would shine above and then maybe We would fall in love and Maybe we'd make a life for us two. Maybe. ----- Written and recorded by Hairy Larry on august 15, 2010. Recorded to my Zoom H4 using the internal mics. I woke up with the A part of the change running through my mind and it wouldn't go away so I grabbed my guitar and worked up the change. The only words I had was maybe but I persisted and after a few more minutes I had this wistful, Walter Mittyish fantasy that goes from day to night while it goes from dark to light. Maybe. On the original lyric sheet I changed "take me by the hand" to "take me by my hand" but when I sang it I went back to the original text. I'm keeping both.
