King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Live at Desert Daze on 2022-09-30 - Source 2

description
FYI: This is my second source (using my other pair of SP-CMC-8 micrphones and my Sony PCM-M10 recorder). My first source also used a set of SP-CMC-8's going into my Roland R-07, and I personally think source 1 sounds a tad better, but I'm uploading this one here too for all Gizz fans and completists. SETLIST: 01. Intro 02. Gaia 03. Planet B 04. Hell 05. Magenta Mountain 06. Iron Lung 07. Boogieman Sam 08. Murder of the Universe 09. (stage announcement) 10. (talking) 11. Static Electricity 12. K.G.L.W. 13. (talking) 14. Float Along - Fill Your Lungs 15. The Dripping Tap NOTES: Wow! Where to begin with this show? First off, this was my 5th time seeing King Gizzard, with the other four times being at Coachella (2017 and 2022), so I've only seen "festival sets" of theirs, but this would be my first festival "headlining" gig of theirs I get to witness. And it was full of everything I could have possibly hoped for and then some. I got my usual spot right in front of the soundboard, and as soon as the band kicked in (after calling us cunts upon walking out), the energy level of everything (the crowd, the band, etc) just jumped to extreme overload. Before you knew it, there were giant inflatable alligators being thrown and torn about down in the pit, crowd surfers galore, the biggest beach ball I've ever seen, and good vibes everywhere you looked. At one point, they had to temporarily stop the show to make an announcement of a missing girl, but thankfully the band announced later on that she had been found (thank God), and then continued on to blow my mind (and many others I'm betting on). They ripped through amazing renditions of "Gaia" and "Boogieman Sam", and then of course ended it with "The Dripping Tap", and this is where things got even crazier. Now remember, we're at Lake Perris at almost 1 AM, so it's pretty cold out, and Stu decides to stage dive into the crowd (cool enough), but little to my knowledge, while the band continued to rock on, Stu was then carried by the crowd out to the lake where he dove in before running back on stage soaking wet in his skivvies. Absolutely awesome I say. And as the story/rumor goes, apparently there was some girl down by the shore in the lake, ass out, taking a piss while all this started to occur. I can only imagine what was going through her mind when she all of a sudden looked up while doing her business to see Stu being carried by a crowd heading right towards her. Desert Daze is the best. PS: I giggle every time I hear Ambrose Kenny-Smith pronounce the festival as "Dessert Days". Also he sounds just Gstar321 (iykyk)...
