Keith Kenny Live at John & Peter's New Hope, PA on 2018-10-19

description
Now this was a one of a kind Keith Kenny show. I missed most of the first set because Bill and I had a gig at The Bucks County Brewery playing 6pm-9pm. After we were done we bolted over to John and Peter's. Keith had originally asked me to do sound, and I told him I would help him once I got there after our gig. It was a pretty packed house when we got there. Someone was sitting at my sound/recording table, but they gave it up to me after the first set which was super cool. The recording is pretty vocal heavy until track 209 Bron-Y-Aur Stomp. The matrix was out of whack a little and this is when I finally discovered it and fixed it. The recording still sounds pretty damn good all the way through, but much improved after and including 209. Everything is even sounding from that point on. Normally I would have other mics in the room and on stage but since I got there late I went for the straight soundboard feed only. Keith was on fire as always, but there was a huge distraction right in front of him. This table full of obnoxious women that were literally screaming and yelling to each other over the music. Keith actually had to stop and have them thrown out. One of the greatest moments I have seen. These girls were absolutely horrible. Once they were gone Keith really kicked it into high gear. It was so awesome that it deserved it's own track. Check out the linage notes below. Any musician or fan of music that has had to put up with jack asses like this yapping about NOTHING while the music is playing was vindicated that night! A must have for any fan of music and Keith Kenny! Just one more reason why Keith Kenny RULES!! ENJOY & PLEASE SHARE EVERYWHERE!!! The Limit Is The Sky *Keith Kenny - Banjo ^First Performance &The origin of the “You’re So Dreamy Ben Hogan” movement %”Message To Pong” was the working title at the time. It was later to be titled “Drifting In Time” $This table full of loud and drunk girls that were seated directly in front of the stage would not shut up. Keith tells a story about one of his first times playing in front of people and they talked the whole time he played. He was trying to subtly tell these rude women to shut up without actually telling them. Needless to say it did not work. @The same table full of drunken rude women would not stop and were literally screaming at each other while Keith was trying to play. Keith actually had to stop the show because of these awful women that were talking the whole night. A woman sitting in the table next to them asked them to “please stop talking I’m trying to listen to the music.” The ring-leader of the horrible table responded, “Fuck you, you fucking bitch.” At that point Keith stopped the show and the crowd chanted, “Get the fuck out.” (The chant was started by “yours truly.”) Keith waited for them to get kicked out then started the song where he left off once they were gone.
