Rip: WAV 24 > ZOOM Ambisonics player > (binaural) vertical 155°, horizontal 260°, roll 212° > WAV 24 > Audacity (tracking, normalize) > FLAC 2448 Master digital recording by Marcus Buick Edited & mastered by Joe Noel August 21, 2019 Notes; There were a few first’s for this show; First Frost show for me in over 20 years (the place is still as magical as ever!), my first time seeing JRAD, and my first time using the Zoom H3-VR ambisonic recording mic at an outdoor rock show.  I used the mic to record ambisonically to four channels (in the AmbiX B-format) on the internal microSD card. The AmbiX file type is a 4 channel poly wav file that contains four channels of Ambisonic B-format information.  If listening in 2-channel stereo, you are most likely hearing a truncation (2 channel UHJ) of the front figure 8 (X axis) and the omni channel (W).  Similarities to mid-side recording can be heard, but the augmentation of the mid figure-8 (X axis) compared to a cardioid, and the overall omni (w) compared to a Y axis figure-8 gives a wider, more open, sound that approximates wide-side recording, as compared to a mid-side signal.
