The theater had an elevated stage, and if I remember properly, my mic stand was right above the stage lip. I can't recall the mic configuration, which is a shame, because I think it worked well. I am impressed with the stereo imaging, if I do say so myself, and I love that clean drum sound. On a good system I swear you can resolve individual drums and cymbals. And when he rolls through the toms.... just wow. I think you can even hear a squeaky chair (or a drum pedal?) in spots. The levels are a bit low. The master was recorded with just a bit too much headroom. I did a mild linear normalization of the peak across all files in each set to 0dBFS, after upconverting to 24 bit for more processing resolution. I don't want to do anything non-linear (like compression) that will degrade the dynamic range of the original recording. The original un-processed direct digital from master transfer files are available upon request ( lastname dot(.) firstname at(@) gmail ) sox commands used: upconvert to 24 bit: sox ${FLAC} -b 24 ${FLAC/.flac/-24.flac} measure headroom: (in this case minimum was s1:1.736, s2:1.577) sox ${FLAC} -n stat -v mild linear normalization: sox ${FLAC} ${FLAC/-24.flac/-24n.flac} vol 1.736 sox ${FLAC} ${FLAC/-24.flac/-24n.flac} vol 1.577 FLAC fingerprints: jmp1996-08-15-s1-t01.flac:6046fbcca7c6d090d3506309b015bed3 jmp1996-08-15-s1-t02.flac:0f6cc000a680286f41c3d929e2fb877d jmp1996-08-15-s1-t03.flac:566c1e2abf41b11446b191281f4c07b6 jmp1996-08-15-s1-t04.flac:6fbce547645066fb69b85b6ab9e852ee jmp1996-08-15-s1-t05.flac:b3ec29118f19d646686798b97898c199 jmp1996-08-15-s2-t01.flac:1c3eab04a3be8328b51a1f7816bf3f6a jmp1996-08-15-s2-t02.flac:11ad12fc7195bd8689ab932d744b9138 jmp1996-08-15-s2-t03.flac:e911966138a8428329c6e5ab6776ea0e jmp1996-08-15-s2-t04.flac:2e7eca9aae3ffe718f9c89be1df3aee4 jmp1996-08-15-s2-t05.flac:c92848a6bb77b397fba87446d227566b jmp1996-08-15-s2-t06.flac:f0b05d130fdc5e573e1be34da17b2a32 jmp1996-08-15-s2-t07.flac:2b1371b92ab6f445df06135e2e162040 jmp1996-08-15-s2-t08.flac:a2bdde83f2b3181e7aa5d5cf0fa44873
