Guster Live at Thompson's Point on 2018-08-04
description
========================================================= NOTE: This is a 16-bit "Remaster" of Dave Mallick's original source located here: https://archive.org/details/guster2018-08-04.flac24 Dave had weather-related equipment issues, which resulted in low levels. and pops in the right channel. He sent me the raw file. Using Audacity, I boosted the left channel 17.4db and used it for both channels. I also boosted the 1st 58 minutes an additional 9db (he had raised the levels after the band was back on the main stage). This version is being posted with his permisson. It was a wet and stormy night, so it is kind of a miracle that any recording exists at all. Multiple tapers (including myself) left their equipment at their hotels. All credit goes to Dave. -BH ========================================================= Guster August 4th, 2018 Thompson's Point, Portland, ME Master: Elation KM201's>Lunatec V3>Microtrack II (24-bit/48kHz) by Dave Mallick Conversion: WAV>Sound Studio 4.8.14>xACT 2.46>FLAC by Dave Mallick 01 Long Night 02 Careful 03 The Captain 04 Doing It By Myself 05 I Spy 06 Endlessly 07 Backyard 08 Airport Song 09 Hello Mr. Sun* 10 Red Oyster Cult* 11  the band moves to stage 2 12 So Long 13 Demons 14 Amsterdam 15  the band moves back 16 Hang On 17 Adam talks / 'Dad Rock' improv 18 Come Downstairs & Say Hello 19 Do You Love Me? 20 Happier 21 Diane 22 Architects & Engineers 23 Barrel Of A Gun 24 This Could All Be Yours# ------------------ 25 Lightning Rod 26 Satellite$ 27 Come On Eileen$ Night 2 of Guster's "On the Ocean" festival. Tracks 12-14 were performed semi-acoustic at a small stage next to the soundboard. The band and crew carried Adam there on a paddleboard, while he pretended to paddle through the crowd. This is far from a clean recording. The weather was threatening all day, and finally the heavens opened between Secret Sisters and Guster. Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, my V3 got some moisture inside it and it would not send out a signal that my deck could understand once the rain stopped. I finally decided to run it hot at 12V in hopes that it would cook off the moisture, and it ended up behaving with about 30 seconds left in the first song. Even so, the levels are extremely low, and there are occasional pops and dropouts in the left channel throughout. However, it's the only recording of the show that I'm aware of, so here it is.
