Trying To Live Up *featuring Neil Whitmoyer of Flying Colors on harmonica Recorded and Mixed By: Rich Martineau (brotheresau@gmail.com) Source: SBD (via F.O.H. split)>Alesis HD24 (multitrack) Lineage: Multitrack mixed in Studio One (v4.5) directly to 16-bit FLAC Notes: A splitter snake was used to capture the stage feed (24-track) directly to the ADAT. WAV files from the ADAT were subsequently imported into Studio One, where any EQ and compression were added. Mix to 2-track was expored directly to FLAC (16-bit). Special thanks to Sandy Hollow Arts and Recreation for the Environment (S.H.A.R.E.) and My Wife's Sound Company for all their help in allowing me to capture the event in this manner. Thanks also to Janis Wallin from Family Groove Company for verifying the song titles, as well as being patient while a decade passed before I got this done!  Tech note: The "vocal signal"-to-"stage noise" ratio of the vocal mics was very low. Subsequently, there is a lot of stage noise coming through those mics. The ratio was so low, in fact, that I could not even employ gates, etc. to reduce the stage noise - as the difference in the overall sound was changed so drastically when the mics were off versus on. Therefore, I mixed this with those vocal mics wide-open, which adds quite a bit to the overall "reverby" feel.
