Shows were loose, sporadic, and featured a sizeable rotation of sit-in musicians... the stakes were low. We never rehearsed. We were playing for fun, to become better musicians etc. But in that looseness, and maybe because of it to some degree, some art happened. I'm glad a slice of it was captured. ... these recordings remind me I returned from Eugene in 99 wielding a new Paul Reed Smith Hollowbody ii electric guitar. It brought a whole new touch-sensitivity and fullness of tone to the proceedings.  the 99-00 shows were the first to feature it.  FTR, at those Billy's shows, I played the PRS into my Mesa Boogie Mark III combo which I then plugged into Billy's 1970s Fender Twin Reverb which he got from Matt "Guitar" Murphy (Blues Brothers). Phat tone."
