They were on fire, the set ended with Brian Henneman sending his guitar out into the crowd during a 10-min long "Partyman." Very, very good times. I had planned to tape but was told that Bob Parr, brother of guitar player Tom Parr and bass player in Chicken Truck (an earlier incarnation of the band) had brought their 8-track cassette recorder to the show. I talked to Bob for a bit, he said that sound engineer Michael Prater had helped him tweak the recording setup and pointed out that it was the same 8-track machine that Chicken Truck had used to record all their cassette / demo releases (The 90 Minute Tape, Loud MUsic, etc.). A few months later their management was kind of enough to let me borrow and copy their DAT copy of the show which I assume was a clone of the mixed-down master. It's been a huge favorite of mine ever since. It sounds fantastic. I removed a few small gaps here and there and gave it a final fadeout, otherwise this is untouched. And no, they did not record Wilco's set. Bob said they would have recorded them but they didn't have enough tape. Enjoy, mrpember, December 23, 2020
