That night I wrote the lyrics and decided to record them too so on the 17th I made the "Borderline" video with vocals and harp. The song has a western movie feel so I wore my cowboy hat. The ambiguity in the lyrics is right out there with the second meaning more pronounced than the descriptive landscape meaning. This appeals to me. The instrumental version of "Borderline" is here. Borderline Instrumental Equipment: Video Cameras - JVC GR-DV800U Microphones - Audio Technica 831b on my sigma, EV 649b on my harp rack (mixed to mono) Preamp - M-Audio DMP2 Audio Recorder - iRiver H320 Lyrics: Borderline copyright 2007 by Larry Heyl Out on the border between night and day There's a twisty little path that they call The Way Where it takes you depends on where you're going. I was following that path to find myself For once I wasn't looking for nobody else When the sky got dark with winds a blowing. And I could hear the thunder As my feet started shaking. And I looked down in wonder As the earth started quaking. And I feared for my life Was I losing my mind Lost, out on the borderline. Well it was too damn late to turn and run Had to follow The Way until the day was done To my right and my left the ground was cracking I caught a glimpse of the setting sun Afraid each step would be my last one Down the line that my thoughts were attacking. And I could hear the thunder As my feet started shaking. And I looked down in wonder As the earth started quaking. And I feared for my life Was I losing my mind Lost, out on the borderline.
